Lootfun ("Lootfun", "we", "us" or "our") operates lootfun.app and the Lootfun mobile app — a surprise-shopping experience where you open curated boxes and receive, keep, trade in, or ship real products. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

One note about the current preview: the interactive demo on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your demo Loot credits, openings, favorites, and addresses are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers. The rest of this policy describes the full service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide to us

  • Account details — email address, display name, and password, or your identifier when you sign in with Apple or Google.
  • Order and shipping information — the recipient name, shipping address, and delivery preferences you enter when you request shipment of an item you’ve won.
  • Payment information — purchases of Loot credits are processed by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of the transaction and limited details (such as the last digits of a card); we never receive or store full card numbers.
  • Transaction and activity history — Loot credit balances and top-ups, boxes opened, prizes received, trade-ins, shipments, and referral activity.
  • Communications — messages you send to support, survey responses, and other correspondence with us.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — device model, operating system, app version, browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages and screens viewed, and interactions with the service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see section 4 below.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from payment processors (transaction confirmations and fraud signals), sign-in providers you choose to use (such as Apple or Google), and shipping carriers (delivery status).

2. How we use your information

  • Operate the service — maintain your account and Loot credit balance, run box openings, display your loot, and fulfill and deliver shipments.
  • Process payments and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Provide customer support and send service communications such as receipts, shipping updates, and changes to our terms.
  • Personalize the experience, such as featured collections and recommendations.
  • Send marketing communications where permitted — you can opt out at any time.
  • Analyze and improve the service, develop new features, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers that help us run Lootfun — payment processors, shipping and logistics partners, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer-support tools — under contracts that limit their use of your information.
  • In community features — the live wins feed and leaderboard show your display name and the prize you won, never your contact or payment details. You can change your display name at any time.
  • For legal reasons — to comply with law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Lootfun, our users, or others.
  • In corporate transactions — if Lootfun is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify you of any change in ownership of your information.
  • With professional advisors such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers where necessary.
  • With your consent, or at your direction.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use three kinds of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential — required for core functionality such as signing in, keeping your session, and security. The service can’t work without them.
  • Functional — remember your settings and preferences, like language and saved views.
  • Analytics — help us understand how the service performs and where it can improve.

Embedded third-party content may set its own cookies, which are governed by those parties’ privacy policies.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Account information — review and update your details in the app, or contact us for help.
  • Marketing — opt out via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or in your notification settings.
  • Cookies — most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; privacy plug-ins offer further control. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the service.
  • Privacy rights — depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact us at privacy@lootfun.app to exercise these rights; we will respond as required by applicable law.

6. International transfers

Lootfun operates from the United States, and your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we do so in accordance with applicable data-transfer laws so that it remains protected wherever it is processed.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable procedural, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. Payment card data is handled by certified payment processors and never touches our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password and keep it to yourself.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business purposes, considering the reasons it was collected, our legal and tax obligations, dispute resolution, and the safety of our users. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

9. Age restrictions

Lootfun is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will close the account and delete the associated information. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or by email. Your continued use of Lootfun after an update means the revised policy applies to you.

11. Third-party links and features

The service may link to or embed third-party sites and features we don’t control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them — please review the privacy policies of any third party you interact with.
